Jul. 7--The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) plans to lend support to the Bangkok Shopping Street programme, a concept aimed at boosting tourism and positioning the capital as a regional shopping destination.
Kittiratt Na Ranong, SET president, said the shopping street would stretch from Mahboonkrong Shopping Mall to the Emporium mall.
Development along Phloen Chit and Sukhumvit roads would be similar to prominent shopping areas in other major cities, such as Orchard Road in Singapore or Times Square in New York City.
