Jul. 7--Prices of raw material for animal feed are expected to fall in the second half of the year following the increased output of maize and soybeans, according to an industry expert.
Virachai Ratanabanchuen, president of the Thai Feed Mill Association, said the price of maize would likely drop by 10 percent to 4.60 baht a kilogramme from 5.16 baht on the back of increased supply from the US, a major producer.
Maize output from the United States is projected to climb to 255.5 million tonnes in the 2003-04 crop year from 248 million tonnes in the previous season.
