Jul. 5--William Grant & Sons International Co, the Hong Kong-based regional distributor of Clan MacGregor whisky, plans an aggressive marketing strategy to raise its whisky to a leading market position in Thailand.

The company aims to increase Clan MacGregor's share of the local market to 8-10 percent by the end of this year, and to 40 percent over the next five years.

Currently, its whisky label holds fourth place with a 5 percent market share, representing about 2.2 million cases (12 bottles each), behind 100 Pipers, Spey Royal and Blue Eagle, whose market shares are 30-40 percent, 20 percent and 10 percent ...
