Singapore Telecommunications Names New Chair.
Jul. 5--Chumpol NaLamlieng, the president of Siam Cement Plc, has been named the new chairman of Singapore Telecommunications.
Mr Chumpol, 56, has been a non-executive independent director of SingTel since June 2002.
The nomination of Mr Chumpol followed the decision by SingTel chairman Ang Kong Hua to retire from the board of directors at the group's forthcoming annual general meeting scheduled to be held in late August.
Mr Ang had indicated his desire to step down to his fellow directors in May in order to have more time to pursue his other interests.
