Jul. 4--Assumption University, owned by the St Gabriel Roman Catholic mission, plans to invest 100 million baht to build a shopping centre as part of a 15-billion-baht, 10-year plan to turn its Bang Na campus into what could be Thailand's first self-contained university town.
Also in the pipeline is a plan for the university to invest about 200 million baht to build a 200-room, five-star hotel near the shopping centre in 2005.
It is also looking at the possibility of investing 500 million baht to build an exhibition and convention hall with seating for 1,500-2,000 in the same period.
