Jul. 4--The Commerce Ministry is studying the feasibility of low-cost property insurance for the initial 600,000 housing units being built under the government's Baan Ua-arthorn, or low-cost housing, project.
According to Deputy Commerce Minister Watana Muangsook, the Insurance Department and the General Insurance Association will study the feasibility of providing coverage to low-income purchasers of the homes.
He said that Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra had called for low-cost house insurance not only for Baan Ua-arthorn buyers but also the general public.
