Jul. 2--The cabinet yesterday approved loans for civil servants to buy notebook computers with 24 instalment payments at no interest.

The loans will be made available by the Government Savings Bank.

Four models of computers will be available for civil servants and state enterprise employees, with prices at 19,500, 22,900, 28,400 and 36,500 baht. The units will be manufactured by SVOA, Dell and Jade Quantum.

Each civil servant will be eligible to buy two notebooks, but on condition that the first will be paid for under the instalment plan while the second must be paid for in cash.
