Jul. 1--Thai Rung Union Car Plc, a major car body assembler and modifier, has expressed keen interest in supplying cheap taxis under the government-promoted Ua-Arthorn taxi programme.
"We're ready and have the potential to develop cheap vehicles with more economical engines for use as taxis, especially our diesel-powered multi-purpose vehicles," said managing director Sompong Phaoenchoke.
A study is being conducted on developing a converter to enable diesel engines to use natural gas in response to the government's policy to promote clean fuel for vehicles.
