Life Assurance Firm Offers Budget Plan for Low-Income Earners in Thailand.
Aug. 2--In the spirit of the government's initiative to make "Ua-arthorn" low-cost insurance coverage available to low-income earners, Nationwide Life Assurance yesterday introduced a budget package with a target to generate at least 300 million baht in premiums over the next five months.
President Soontorn Boonsai said the Thai-US joint venture would offer two policies, with Ua-arthorn 1 providing mainly life protection and Ua-arthorn 2 providing long-term savings features. Ua-arthorn 1 was tentatively introduced in June.
He said the policies would meet the demand of customers by giving accident coverage and offering a savings programme.
