Aug. 26--BROOKSVILLE, Fla.--Plant City and the owners of Crystal Springs have settled a lawsuit over a permit that would more than double the amount of water taken for Zephyrhills bottled water.
The settlement means the Southwest Florida Water Management District will decide at its meeting today in Brooksville whether to approve the permit.
Plant City filed a lawsuit last month challenging the permit that would allow Crystal Springs Preserve -- owner of the spring that feeds the Hillsborough River -- to increase pumping from the spring from 300,000 gallons a day to 755,000.
Water from the spring is sold for Zephyrhills bottled water.
Also, pumping at the adjacent Two Rivers Ranch would be reduced from 1.2 million gallons a day to 392,000 a ...
