Aug. 6--The cabinet has approved a budget of 1.95 billion baht for the Agriculture Ministry to stage the International Horticultural Exposition, or Ratchaphruek 2006, in Chiang Mai.
The 90-day event is expected to draw more than three million visitors from 80 countries.
The event will be held on a 500-rai site at the horticulture research centre in Mae Hia, Chiang Mai, close to many attractions such as the planned Night Safari, said Somchai Charnnarongkul, deputy director-general of the Agriculture Department.
