Aug. 4--TOT Corp is planning to buy 20 new high-tech public phones under a pilot project aimed at overseas tourists to start by the end of the year.

Samart Corp has proposed a preliminary design for the terminals to the TOT already, with costs expected at around 150,000 baht apiece.

Vichian Nakseenuan, TOT senior executive vice-president, said the terminals would be installed in popular tourist destinations.
