First Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York Store Set to Open in Thailand.
Aug. 5--The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will soon have a presence in Bangkok, retailing priceless reproduction art pieces and objets d'art, through a store licence granted to a Thai partnership.
Instyle Associates Co, owned equally by businesswomen Prapavadee Sophonpanich and Titaporn Tuchinda, is spending "several million baht" to open the first Met Store, with an area of more than 110 square metres, at the Siam Discovery shopping centre on Aug 18.
Currently, the famous museum is represented in 17 Met Stores across the United States, and 12 in Europe, Mexico and Asia (Singapore, South Korea, Japan and the Philippines).
