Thailand's Government Savings Bank Enters Motorcycle Leasing Field.

Sep. 3--The Government Savings Bank is planning to offer motorcycle leasing services at substantial discounts from current market rates to assist low-income buyers.
Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra recently expressed frustration that some dealers and leasing companies were charging as much as 40 percent to 50 percent in annual interest for motorcycle leases to low-income buyers otherwise unable to access cheaper credit.
Now the state-owned GSB is preparing to offer competing loans with interest rates ranging from just 12 percent to 15 percent annually, according to Somchainuk Engtrakul, finance permanent ...
