Sep. 2--Nokia of Finland is upbeat over its 2003 prospects, forecasting higher sales growth than last year and maintaining its leadership in the Thai mobile phone market.
Shaun Colligan, managing director of Nokia (Thailand), attributed the strong growth to the surge in sales from mass-market mobile phones and the pre-paid market, which users found cost-effective.
"We are confident that we can retain our market leadership this year, fuelled by strong sales in the final quarter."
He declined to give figures, saying only that Nokia was the world's biggest mobile phone maker with a 40 percent market share. ...
