Aug. 30--EDINBURG, Texas--A few county employees got an early start on their Labor Day weekend and at least one trial was forced to move to an alternate location Friday when a power outage shut down the county courthouse.

Hidalgo County Courthouse workers were allowed to go home about 3 p.m.

Friday by commissioner's court as the county worked to fix a blackout at the courthouse caused by an accident with electricity cables.

The blackout also forced the trial of three Pharr teens accused of murdering a Pharr grandmother in the 275th State District Court to be moved to the Juvenile Justice Court for hearing. Other courts…
