Oct. 6--With alternative medical treatment gaining in popularity, companies with no prior involvement in the health-care business are seeking to profit, the latest being entertainment giant GMM Grammy Plc.
However, Grammy's first foray into the field is consistent with its core business. It is releasing an instructional VCD on Ti Lanchakorn, a therapy founded in China 3,000 years ago using hand movements that simulate those of Lord Buddha in different postures.
The technique was introduced to Thailand by Dr Supachai Jarusomboon, an adviser to the Foundation for Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
