Oct. 2--The government has slapped controls on imported second-hand electronic and electrical goods to stop Thailand becoming a dumping ground for waste products.
The measure will be applied to more than 40 items as listed in a ministerial announcement signed by Industry Minister Somsak Thepsuthin on Sept 22, according to Virah Mavichak, director-general of the Industrial Works Department.
The controls will become effective once the announcement has been published in the Royal Gazette.
