Oct. 1--Samsung's aggressive marketing campaign to overtake Sony of Japan as the top seller of television sets in Thailand has come to fruition.
According to a report from the electrical goods market research firm JFK, the South Korean consumer electronics giant held a 19 percent market share for colour TVs in Thailand early this year, representing about four billion baht in terms of sales value compared with a 17 percent share for Sony.
Driving Samsung's sales were its 21" and 29" flat-screen TV sets.
