MANKATO, Minn. _ A little after 9 a.m. Monday morning, Daunte Culpepper walked through a few plays on a practice field at Minnesota State University.

By 9:10, he was practicing his drop-back technique.By 9:25, he was tossing simple passes to his receivers and running backs.

But it wasn't until about 10:15 that the Vikings starting quarterback gave the hundreds of fans watching the team's first practice what they came to see: a 60-yard bomb to Randy Moss on a post pattern.

Although the deep pass fell incomplete, the fans took solace in that Culpepper actually overthrew Moss, a rarity given the receiver's speed. …
