Hugh Grant, 39, and Elizabeth Hurley, 35, have split, it was announced Tuesday in London. The movie stars' spokeswoman called it a "temporary split-up ... a mutual and amicable decision." She added: "I don't know the reasons."
The unweds have been together 13 years. Their biggest challenge was the 1995 incident involving L.A. prostitute Divine Brown with whom Grant was arrested near Hollywood's Sunset Strip in the back of a BMW.
The spokeswoman said the two would continue to occupy the same London house. "He's here at the moment," she said, adding that Hurley's "about to start shooting a new movie in the (United) States. So it's not really an issue at the moment."
Five years ago Hurley said she was "miserable as sin" and "felt like I'd been shot" over the Brown incident as Grant did a public mea culpa tour. A year ago they talked separately in the prints about having kids. Over the last six months, Hurley has been seen about with Wall Street billionaire Ted Forstmann, 58, whom Grant calls "a very old friend of ours."

MUTI NEW YORK-BOUND?
Riccardo Muti told an Aussie newspaper there are "strong possibilities" he'll take the New York Philharmonic conducting job. "It depends on the details because I do not want to leave La Scala," he said. "So if I take the orchestra, it would have to be with La Scala, not instead of La Scala." The ex-Philadelphia Orchestra conductor has been at the Milan opera house since 1986. Philharmonic officials declined comment Tuesday.
