PHILADELPHIA _ A week ago, while his team was getting dusted by the New York Giants and Donovan McNabb was going through the worst performance of his young career, the Eagles quarterback kept telling himself all he needed was one big play for things to completely turn around.

McNabb wasn't just trying to keep himself motivated in the face of a seemingly hopeless situation. He actually believed that a single positive play, if the Birds' offense could come up with one, would provide the spark to set everything back in rhythm.

It's just the way the guy thinks. It's just the confidence he has.
