DETROIT _ Andrea Aggeler is skating again. A few days recently, shortly after 7 a.m., she put on her long-program music and began moving on the ice, remembering a routine that had been choreographed for her months ago.

She tried a few spirals and spins, elements that always felt good when she skated. And when the music stopped, Aggeler kept going, wanting to satisfy an audience that included just one person: herself.

It didn't matter that she didn't try a single jump. Aggeler wasn't ready for that.

"When I get the green light from my doctor, I'll start working on my jumps," said Aggeler, 20, of Harrison Township. "For once in my life, I'm keeping it one day at a time."

A year ago, Aggeler was doing triple jumps _ and landing them more consistently than ever before. She was in the midst of a season that ended with an 11th-place finish at the U.S. Championships in Cleveland.
