Jun. 3--O'Sullivan Industries Virginia Inc., a manufacturer of ready-to-assemble furniture, will expand its Halifax County operation and hire 100 new employees.

The company, whose South Boston plant currently employs 600 people, will invest $11 million in the project.

Virginia competed with Utah and Missouri for expansion, said Gov. Jim Gilmore. He provided $100,000 through a Governor's Opportunity Fund grant to help Halifax with site preparation. In addition, the Virginia Economic Development Partnership and the Halifax County Industrial Development Authority worked with O'Sullivan. The Virginia Department of Business…
