Jun. 14--NEW YORK-Al Gore and Ronald Reagan don't have much in common, but the vice president is updating one of the Gipper's most famous lines.
"Are you better off than you were eight years ago?" Mr. Gore asked cheering supporters at a museum on the Upper West Side. "I believe the answer is obvious."
But he added that Americans worked just as hard in 1991.
"The difference? We gave them the tools to build this economy better, so now the economy is able to blaze on the fuel of their ideas and skill," Mr. Gore said.
