Western New York Sees Active Month for Real Estate Due to Heavy Demand.

Jun. 21--Heavy demand for both small and large houses in Western New York made May the second most active month in a decade, the Greater Buffalo Association of Realtors reported Tuesday.

Area real estate agents sold 1,032 single-family homes and condominiums last month, a 9 percent increase from 947 units the same month last year.

Many brokers are reporting heavy demand from both first-time and move-up home buyers in the city and suburbs. The high volume was clearly evident in Hamburg, where Stovroff Realty broke a company single-month sales record.
