Jul. 19--With hundreds of his workers standing behind him Tuesday afternoon, Robert L. Nardelli gave them credit for the blockbuster second-quarter results issued last week by General Electric Co.'s Power Systems division.

"The Schenectady site is a huge contributor to the overall success of this business," said Nardelli, Power Systems' president and chief executive officer.

On July 13, Power Systems announced second-quarter revenue of $3.74 billion, a 60 percent boost, and $752 million in profits, a 46 percent increase. On Tuesday, the company's 4,500 workers in Schenectady celebrated via television screen with nine other …
