Jul. 18--The State Chamber has seen the trend of Oklahoma companies migrating to Texas. Now, it wants to know why they're leaving.
The Chamber has sent a survey to 200 chambers of commerce and economic development councils throughout the state. The goal is to discover what has compelled businesses to relocate out of state, particularly in Texas.
"We do see the beginning of a trend, and we are very concerned about it," said Mike Seney, a vice president at the State Chamber. "What we don't want is to become a suburb of Texas, so that the corporate headquarters are all down there and all the plants are up here."
