Jul. 16--United and Frontier airlines, the top carriers at Denver International Airport, never have stood in greater contrast than now.
United is seeking to merge with US Airways to stay at the top of the industry.
Meanwhile, the Chicago-based airline faces contentious negotiations with its pilots and ground workers, mounting service problems and criticism in Washington of its ambitions.
