Jul. 25--Trucking down the M25 from Kewill Systems" headquarters in Leather-head, Surrey, came a story that the business-to-business e-commerce supplier has rejected a "friendly" approach from Parcelforce. Dealers heard that the Post Office's parcels arm was prepared to table an offer in the region of UKpound 12 a share, valuing Kewill at UKpound 912 million.

Amid the speculation, Kewill touched 960 pence before closing 72 pence higher at 932 pence. The March peak was 3113 pence, before the general IT fall- out in March and extremely disappointing annual results in June dragged it down to 700 pence.
