Aug. 5--NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- Former Tennessee Finance Commissioner John Ferguson was appointed Friday to head Prison Realty Trust Inc. and Corrections Corp. of America (CCA).

Mr. Ferguson, a former Germantown banker who previously oversaw the state's $17 billion-a-year budget, succeeds Doctor Crants who was dismissed this week as Prison Realty president. CCA and its real estate operation, Prison Realty, form the largest prison management and operation company in the world.

CCA operates the Hamilton County Penal Farm and 76 other adult and juvenile prisons throughout the country, including contracts with state government in Tennessee.
