Aug. 11--DAKOTA COUNTY, Minn.--The Dakota County Jail's first job fair ran smoothly enough Thursday. Company representatives spotted a few potential hires, and the inmates who attended said the interview process gave them hope and confidence.

After a few rounds of wrap-up applause, the inmates prepared to file out with their arms full of vo-tech brochures and employment pamphlets.

That's when a savvy jail employee noticed the contraband. Uh, oh. Someone forgot to tell the visiting companies that staples are a no-no. As jail staff removed every single staple from every single brochure, Gary Graham shook his head.
