Sep. 14--The Legislature is threatening to shut down WVU Tech's community college, saying it doesn't do enough workforce training and adult education.

Five months after they heard that, Tech officials have opened a branch on Charleston's West Side, offering workforce training and adult education.

But even if the Legislature does dismember Tech's community college, lumping it with West Virginia State College and Marshall University in to a giant community college in Charleston, that wouldn't kill Tech's new "Charleston Center for Workforce Development and Extended Education," director Robert Maroney said.
