Sep. 14--ATLANTA--AirTran Airways' Web site has never been busier.
The Orlando-based airline, which operates an Atlanta hub, now generates about one-third of its revenue through its Internet site, compared with just 1 percent two years ago. During a fare sale last week, tickets booked at airtran.com accounted for 42 percent of all revenue taken in that day, the airline said.
"Over the last two years we've seen phenomenal growth," said Kevin Healy, vice president of planning.
