Sep. 23--HAMPTON, Va.--A foot-long microphone loomed over the heads of Asbury Elementary School fourth-graders, capturing their oohs and aahs. A camera videotaped the students' wide eyes as they watched a stream of water shoot up into the sky from a firetruck's hose.
"Wow," "cool" and "yeah," the students said, standing in their schoolyard.
The scene was part of the taping of "The NASA `Why?' Files," a PBS educational show. This episode will air in February to an audience of two million elementary pupils around the country.
