Oct. 27--Officials from GKN PLC met Thursday with employees of Boeing Co.'s fabrication business and the media to introduce the company and members of its new management team. During the daylong visit at Boeing's St. Louis offices, the United Kingdom-based automobile and aerospace parts firm outlined the challenges facing the company and reiterated its commitment to growing the business here.

Boeing's fabrication business makes metal structures and composites, primarily for the F/A-18E/F, C-17 and other Boeing military aircraft programs. GKN reached an agreement with Boeing Oct. 18 to the buy the business for $61 million in cash. …
