Buffalo, N.Y., Convention Center Approves Contract with Maintenance Staff.

Oct. 21--Managers of the Buffalo Convention Center approved a two-year contract with building maintenance workers Friday.

The pact will give employees represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) annual raises in the 3 percent to 4 percent range, according to board chairman Dan D. Kohane.

The contract affects 13 full-time employees, as well as a number of part-time workers who are hired on an as-needed basis. The SEIU ratified the contract earlier this month.

Kohane said one of the major changes in the new contract involves the removal of a clause that guaranteed that at least 13 full-time maintenance …
