Nov. 6--GET READY FOR A NEW community gathering place in Kings Mountain.

The H. Lawrence Patrick Senior Life and Conference Center -- to be built on King Street (U.S. 74 Business) with visibility from the U.S. 74 Bypass -- will be available for wedding receptions, meetings, seniors activities and other community functions. Construction is scheduled to start next Friday for the $2.8 million project. Completion is expected by Aug. 30, 2001.

The project received $700,000 in donations, a $100,000 state grant, $150,000 from Cleveland County and the balance from the city of Kings Mountain, he said.
