Dec. 13--A third block of Centennial Hill, an ambitious planned residential community downtown, has been bought by a prominent Houston-based apartment developer.

If construction on all the residential projects planned for three adjacent blocks on Centennial Hill gets under way soon, as many as 500 condos and apartments could emerge simultaneously from what for years has been a swath of asphalt parking lots.

Centennial Olympic Park Area Inc., the downtown agency trying to create the new nine-block residential neighborhood, agreed Tuesday to sell the 1.47-acre block to Hanover Cos., a national apartment builder focusing on urban …
