Dec. 4--It looks like the tech bug is carrying a virus, and it has spread to the Capital Region.
The mass sell-off plaguing the markets has affected several companies here, delivering major hits to share prices in recent weeks.
Plug Power Inc. has lost 42 percent of its value in the last month. Intermagnetics General Corp. has dropped 27 percent. Albany Molecular Research Inc. has fallen 13 percent.
"It's been pretty bloody out there," said David Waldek, chief financial officer of Albany Molecular, whose company has weathered the storm with some success.
