Sep. 10--Bayer CropScience has appointed William Buckner to head its U.S. business operations.

Buckner most recently was president and CEO of Bayer CropScience in Canada, which he headed since 1998. His new position, at Bayer CropScience's U.S. headquarters in Research Triangle Park, takes effect Oct. 1.

Buckner succeeds Bernd Naaf, who will become head of Bayer CropScience's Asia-Pacific region.
