Sep. 4--Thai Airways International plc (THAI) yesterday insisted there was nothing irregular in the procurement of its five Airbus A340-600 aircraft as suggested by some local newspapers.

Commenting on a report about the big price gap between the first and second aircraft purchased from Airbus, the airline's executives said the prices varied based on the concessions granted by the aircraft manufacturer to be used as a reduction on each plane.

Although Airbus gives a reduction on each aircraft in an equivalent amount, benefits per aircraft are granted on delivery.
