Thai brokers seek exemptions on cash trading accounts.

Sep. 2--Local brokers plan to petition the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Stock Exchange of Thailand to extend current exemptions on cash trading accounts under one million baht per day.
Since July 1, investors have been required to pledge cash or securities as collateral equal for at least 10 percent of their daily trading lines. The Stock Exchange of Thailand has exempted investors trading less than one million baht per day from the requirement until Jan 1.
Brokers say they want the exchange to extend the exemption indefinitely to help reduce operational expenses.
