Sep. 2--Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's tour of the provinces came under fire yesterday from Democrat MPs who questioned the transparency of his budget allocations.
Democrat MPs attacked Mr Thaksin during yesterday's House debate on the 2005 budget, saying he spent 32.9 billion baht including money from the 2004 budget on infrastructure and tourism commitments in 76 provinces.
The MPs suspected Mr Thaksin lacked spending discipline and that he was throwing around money not to help people but for his own political benefit.
