Sep. 2--Green tea fever and the rising popularity of ready-to-drink tea is driving a striking expansion of Thailand's overall tea market, including leaves and bags that have typically seen very slow growth.

AB Foods and Beverages (Thailand) Ltd, the importer of Twinings Tea from Britain, is among the companies enjoying the current boom.

Believing that consumers of ready-to-drink tea would also like to brew their own hot "cuppa" in the office and at home, AB is spending 30 million baht to encourage Thais to drink more hot tea using premium tea leaves and tea bags.
