Albuquerque Public Schools announced the district will provide transportation this school year for students transferring to another school under the federal No Child Left Behind Law.

APS leaders said the district will provide transportation even if the school they are transferring to failed to meet the adequate yearly progress standards announced by the state Monday.

Because school designations were announced by the state after school started, parents were concerned they would have to move their kids to a new school in the middle of the fall semester if their new school turned out to be on …
