Sep. 1--Another Chinese mobile phone brand has entered Thailand, seeking to gain a foothold in an increasingly crowded and competitive market.
TCL Mobile Communication Co, the mainland's third largest handset manufacturer, also intends to set up a new plant in Thailand to make semi-knocked-down units if demand exceeds one million units a year, according to general manager Huang Wanquan.
The planned factory would be an export base to accommodate the fast-growing markets in Southeast Asia, he added.
