ATLANTA -- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices has tweaked the adult immunization schedule, with an eye toward further changes in the near future.
The changes include adding a row to the schedule for health care workers, changing the color coding, removing a cautionary note about using influenza vaccine in pregnant women only during the second and third trimester, and updating the influenza vaccination footnote to make it consistent with ACIP's 2004 recommendations. The schedule is used to prompt physicians, as well as consumers, when individuals aged 19 years or older require vaccinations.
