Feb. 26--After a late entry into the Internet software marketplace and a confusing marketing campaign that hampered sales, SAP AG appears to be making inroads with its e-commerce platform, mySAP.com.
Sales of the platform -- a series of software programs that help businesses manage customer relations, inventory, accounting and purchasing -- have risen from 16 percent of license sales in the fourth quarter of 1999 to 63 percent during the same period in 2000.
Dave Boulanger, who follows SAP products for AMR Research Inc. in Boston, estimated that sales from mySAP.com could reach 80 percent of SAP's license sales in the fourth quarter of this year.
