British venture capital firm 3i Group plc announced that Martin Gagen, an executive director in charge of the firm's U.S. and Asia-Pacific operations, has resigned from the board and will give up his executive duties at the end of the month. He will study at Stanford University.

Allan Ferguson, based in Waltham, Mass., will take over the firm's U.S. operations and report to Rod Perry, the executive director responsible for the firm's venture business worldwide. Chris Rowlands, a member of 3i's executive committee responsible for growth capital, will assume responsibility for Asia-Pacific.
